Cheekbone Drama

Looking back in time, I remember my modeling days, when all the makeup artists told me what great cheekbones I have. All of a sudden years have passed by and it is as if everyone these days now has cheekbones. Cheekbones that once were a feature of those that were genetically blessed are now being ditched out to anyone that can afford fillers from your average street corner plastic surgeon or aesthetician. I used to think my cheekbones were unique but I guess not anymore.

I do not have a problem with that at all, hey I guess if you want cheekbones, then get some cheekbones! However, over the last few years, there have been a series of freak shows created from too much cheekbone. Plastic Surgeons are filling or implanting cheekbones in anyone and everyone that goes to have facial rejuvenation and some of them just do not look real enough. That is is what I refer to as cheekbone drama.

I do understand trying to regain your youth and look like a beautiful twenty-something. But, what have cheekbones got to do with youth? A lot of women get talked into getting fillers or implants in their cheeks thinking it makes them look young or exotic. However, the thing is most of the time you end up looking like a freak. Cheekbones have nothing to do with age. If you had cheekbones when you were twenty, the truth is they will most likely still be there when you are sixty. When all of a sudden you create cheekbones out of nowhere you end up looking like an alien. I am walking past these women and men that have this new kind of triangular face. Plastic surgeons are selling them as a more youthful aesthetic. As I said, youth has nothing to do with cheekbones.

Perhaps you may want rounder cheeks, but you do need jaw gripping, blade running cheekbones. This is a classic example of cheekbone drama. One thing you have to realize is that cheekbones do not suit every aesthetic, so you have to be careful before you get them done. You do not want to end up looking like Jocelyn Weinstein, Rodrigo Alves or the late Pete Burns. I think everything in moderation is the answer to a youthful aesthetic. Think back to when you were nineteen and you had great skin and probably a youthful aesthetic. Did you have cheekbones ?? If you did not, then don’t get them. Actually I believe putting too much filler in your cheeks actually makes you look older and gives you the, “done” look.

You want to go to an aesthetician that enhances you. Not one that turns you into some Avatar from a future world. What I say is buyer beware. If you notice even Kim K has not been injecting too many filers in the cheek area recently. Cheekbones are a sign of beauty but not necessarily a sign of youth and it is not a one size fits all. Don’t get it twisted !!
